He cherished his nieces and nephews and always looked forward to family gatherings and holidays at the lake. Traveling with his family and extended family brought him great joy.

Joe was a devoted animal lover and shared a special bond with his dog Charlie and cat Smokey. Joe and Lisa treasured the time they spent with their wonderful friends and neighbors. Joe especially looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his closest friends, a tradition he enjoyed for more than 30 years. He loved fishing, boating, good food and preparing his Sunday sauce.

His laughter, warmth and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Per Joe’s wishes a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends is being planned and will be announced with a date in June 2026.

I didn’t know Joe for that one of a time. However, for the length of time that I knew him, I knew he was a great man and an even better person to be around and to talk to. I really appreciate the time I had with Joe and he is already very missed and he will live on through all of us. Condolences to the family and friends that knew and loved Joe!

Lisa and family I am so sorry for your loss. My favorite memory of Joe was when he was putting in our new window and sliding glass door. My son Michael was 3 and had Bob the Builder on all day! By the time Joe and his crew were done they were singing the Bob the Builder song! We are so sad and he will be greatly missed!

Dear Lisa, my sincerest condolences to you and the family.
I met Joe for lunch to interview for a job in the late 80’s. I was surprised at the knowledge he had at such a young age. (He was 9 years younger than me) I took the job and loved working with him. Quality was number 1, which was important to me.
One large job we had was tearing off a roof to put a second story on a home. It was a cold November morning and rain was forecast so a helper, Joe, and I scrambled to get the place tarped. Before we were done it started to rain one of those cold November rains. We finished up and not a drop got into the home. This is where the story gets good. Lisa you had ordered the carpet for the new family room Joe was building in your house in an attempt to push him to finish!! It was late morning and I said see ya tomorrow…to which he replied no, Lisa ordered the carpet installation next week so let’s go to my house and finish up the trim! I said but we’re soaking wet, and he said we can throw our clothes in the dryer! I said and we’ll all stand around naked with towels wrapped around us? We all laughed so hard but I did go home for a hot shower and Joe understood. I loved the man and am deeply saddened by his passing. RIP Joe.

Joe packed a lot of living in his short life. How did a remodel job in our house turn into a long-term friendship? Over the course of time, Joe ended up expanding our living space, building our garage and barn replacement and showed up every week for volleyball! We’re so grateful to have memories that will last as long as we live. We’re hoping that you will embrace those memories and find comfort. Our thoughts are with the entire family as you navigate through this monumental loss.

    Lisa and Family,
We were so sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. I met Joe at a YMCA exercise class in the early 90’s. I knew you from Greece Central EV school but that was my first encounter with Joe. At the time we were thinking of a home remodeling project and at class I asked him a lot of questions and he was great about answering them all. So when we were interviewing contractors for the job I thought I should at least let this guy give us an estimate as he had already been so nice. What got him the job from us were the comments from his previous clients. They told us that he is reliable, hardworking, is there everyday until the job is done, honest and trustworthy. Well so began a 30 year relationship with this remarkable craftsman. As we got to know him we saw a warm, friendly , funny and hardworking man who took pride in his work but even more so his family. He did many different jobs for us over the years. When we heard of his passing we both looked at the beautiful built in bookcases that he had installed in our new home in 2023 and felt happy that he had done those before his illness. Those bookcases will be a reminder for us each day that we were fortunate to have known him and to have benefited from his remarkable craftsmanship. He will be missed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

    Lisa,
My heart aches for you and your children and I’m so sorry to hear about this news. You and I have a long history together starting when we met at English Village and then when Jamie was at Athena. Joe was an exceptional and caring carpenter that helped us with many projects at our house and he will be missed by many people. 🙏

Lisa and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Joe was a dedicated and compassionate husband, father and grandfather. He loved to live life. He was even tempered and always smiling. He knew how to balance work life, career and family. Joe worked to live, he did not live to work. Joe was a hard working skilled craftsman, contractor and built a strong family contracting business based on referrals from satisfied customers. Joe will be missed by many.
