Dear Jerry: As you remember, your Mom and Dad were classmates of mine at John Marshall. They were indeed high school sweethearts and a great couple. Your Mom and I attended ‘Greece Central’ together, so our friendship does go back a long way. I was very happy to learn through Sharon and John that you were their son. I know that your Mom and Dad are proud of their lovely family. My deepest sympathy to you and yours. I knw you will cherish your memories with great fondness. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

To all the Carrs (especially Jerry, Noreen and kids), please accept our heartfelt sympathies. I know he was a special man because he created a very special family. I stopped at the Hildebrandt Hospice Center to pay my respects shortly after he was admitted. None of you were around, but I looked in on him and he was very peaceful. I asked the nursing staff to pay special attention to him. They said… ‘of course, we would anyway, he is so cute’. You see, even in that condition, others noticed what a special person he was. Once you have had a chance to process your sadness, I hope you will treasure the wonderful memories you all share.

To the Carr family, please accept my condolences on your loss. Losing a parent is one of the heavy losses we experience, but what greater honor can we bestow upon them but to absorb and reflect their best characteristics and pass those along to our children and to others we meet. Although I did not know Mr. Joseph Carr I know of him by his son Jerry Carr. If I would have met Mr. Carr I would have honored him with insights of the great character I have seen within his son. My sincere sympathies to your family, Michael Fuqua.
