Greece: Suddenly November 22, 2014 at age 86. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy M. Pockett; brother, Robert Pockett. Survived by his children, Gary D. (Kathy) Pockett, Nancy Jo P. (Donald) Sauerbier, Julie(Stephen) Simmons; grandchildren, Scott (Laura) Sauerbier, Stephanie (Phill) Astuto, Allison (Glen) Caser, Ryan (Nikki) Simmons, Andrew Pockett, Nicole Simmons, Austin Pockett; 5 great grandchildren, Dominic Astuto, Giovanni Astuto, Penelope Caser, Jackson Caser, Dane Sauerbier; sister-in-laws, Joyce Davis, Sheila Smith; brother-in-laws, James Davis, Al Wild; loving pet, Bob; many nieces and nephews. John was a veteran of the United States Army and served our country in WWII. He is a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co and a loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. John’s visitation will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 3-5 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel where his funeral service will follow at 5:00 PMin the chapel of the Funeral Home. I always enjoyed talking with Jack at the Rochester Red Wings games. He was a friendly gentleman, a real fan, and fun to be around. I will miss him.
