John was a bigger than life presence. Quick to joke and laugh but a very, very caring man. His concern for our children, especially our daughter- his “step-niece,” will NEVER be forgotten. ❤️ Our thoughts are with you all.

I´ve known John and his family all my life. We called each other cousins. He was a larger than life character. Always a ham, making jokes and cracking you up. I´m very sorry for his family especially my dear friend/cousin, Marie. Love and light to y´all. Wish I could be there to pay my respects but know that I´m there in spirit.

I haven’t seen John in 60 years but I remember going to NYC with him and the rest of the Times Union paperboys when we won a contest seeing who signed up the most customers for the Times Union. I never forgot him. RIP John.

Bonnie, Shawn & Michele, We were so sad to hear of John’s passing. Our world got a little darker with his light gone but heaven just got a whole lot brighter. He was a friend from the day we met, and we were lucky to have had him part of our lives. We will never forget all his kindness, his big laugh and his gentle soul. God Bless.

John is part of some of the happiest memories of my childhood- he was so much fun and a great, decent guy- he taught me how to swim! I spent so much time with Marie, him and Bonnie and the Climers when I was a kid, I feel as though they are my family as well! Love, Cherry

When John found his family and when I met him for the first time I thought that he was a good man because he is. He always made us laugh. He always loved his family. I was very proud to meet the man and have him part of the family and of course have us part of his family. Bonnie I am sorry I could not make it. But you guys will be in my thoughts and heart. Bonnie also I want to let you know that you will always be family too. No matter what.

Bonnie, Shawn & Michele- I just learned of John’s passing and was not only shocked but saddened. Your family was one of our first memories of moving into our first home and John was such a good neighbor. Even though almost 40 years have passed he still remained friendly & happy to see us no matter where we were! Our deepest sympathies John & Mary Conlon
