Greece: Monday, July 30, 2012 at age 86. Predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Margaret Carges; wife, Rosemary D. Carges; brother, Rev. Bernard Carges. Survived by longtime friend and companion, Bette Schmidt; his children, J. Stephen (Janice) Carges, David (Doreen) Carges, Paula (Terry) Traber, Lisa Frustochi; grandchildren, Holly (Eros) Giacalone, Stephen (Elizabeth) Carges, Matthew, Daniel and Kristin Carges, Michelle and Cody Traber, Joel Smith, Ashley (Derek) LeBlanc, Tyler (Samantha) Frustochi; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Emilee LeBlanc; brother, Robert (Betty) Carges; sister, Betty Jane (Herman) Hetzler; several nieces, nephews and cousins; dear friends. Joseph was a proud Army veteran of World War II. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Unity Hospital for the special care given to Joseph. Friends may call Thursday (Aug 2nd) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday (Aug 3rd) 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Greece. Private Interment, Holy Sepulche Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Unity Foundation in his memory.

    I am so sorry to Joe’s family for this tragic loss. I was his home health aide, but ironically, he is the one who helped me with his great wisdom and sincerity. I will never forget him.
