Joanne Marie Acito passed away on July 17, 2023 at the age of 62. She is preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Elizabeth Ruscher and by her sister Sue Ellen Ruscher. She is survived by her husband John Acito, daughter Stephanie Sault (Ryan), son Daniel Acito, brothers James Ruscher (Janet) and John Ruscher (Marlene), sisters Elaine Ricco and Janet Ruscher, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jo did not know the meaning of doing anything part-way, whether it was baking myriad holiday cookies for friends and family, setting the bar at work, committing to scout troops, developing a new exercise regimen, or enjoying a party. An avid sports enthusiast from childhood, Jo was the ultimate Buffalo Bills fan for decades, delighting in winning seasons and remaining faithful in hard times. Jo deeply loved and was loved by her family, friends, and cats. Her extroverted, effervescent, and effusive personality will be sorely missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, friends are welcome to donate to the Patricia Allen Fund (https://www.ochbuffalo.org/foundation/patricia-allen-fund ) or to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org )

Jo made regular visits to New Orleans during Carnival season. Since her first dip into the madness she played like a local. Everyone loved her energy and enthusiasm. Apologizes for all those throws she brought home every year. Meanwhile, I always respected her deep passion for the Bills. Even though my greatest fantasy and fear was that the Bills would meet the Saints in the Superbowl. Jo would have been a formidable opponent. I’m sure she would have broken a few tables! We’ll miss her plenty.

I read with with much sadness for Joanne and the family. She was for sure the biggest Buffalo Bills fan win or lose. . I have fond memories from grammar school and high school as well. I was so looking forward to seeing her at the next high school reunion. Many blessings to the family

So sorry to hear about Joanne’s passing.Way too early. I was a year behind her at Mercy elementary and I think, in scouts with her and Janet. She was always so funny and fun to be around. Deepest condolences to the whole family. Ann Flugel Calnan

I remember Jo well from days working with her at Tops. Everytime we had "dress-down" day or during football season she always wore a Buffalo Bills jersey. She was always so upbeat, friendly and outgoing. Rest in Peace, Jo.
