Greece: Thursday, Dec 22, 2022, Joan Phyllis Swan, 93, of Greece, died after a short illness; predeceased by her twin sister, Joyce Brainard; her brother, Willis Swan; brother-in-law, Harry Brainard; nephew ,Alex Brainard. fondly remembered by nephew, Doug Brainard (Sue Ann) of Rochester and niece. Kim Brainard (Greg Purello) of Albany.
After a very long career at Eastman Kodak, Joan continued to be active until her late 80s, volunteering at Meals on Wheels and the Church of the Ascension food pantry and fundraisers, avidly golfing, bowling, sewing, and caring for her beloved cats. At the two skilled nursing facilities where she lived, Joan entertained the other residents with her feisty wit for the last several years. Joan leaves behind many beautiful quilts she created during her lifetime dedicated to the craft of quilting.
Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday (Jan 21st) 1:00 PM at Church of the Ascension, 2 Riverside Street, Rochester, NY 14613. Private Interment at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your local animal shelter in her memory.
