Hilton, N.Y. : passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 83.  

Beloved wife of Thomas for 53 years. Beloved mother of; Karen Archer (Robert), Jeff (Diedra), Daniel (Robyn) & David. Beloved Sister of Barbara Murphy (late Tom). Survived by many nieces, nephews & grandchildren. Predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Gawronski; & sisters; Patricia Gaskill (late William), Carol Miller (Tom) & brother Robert Gawronski (Joanne).  

Joan was born on August 19th, 1941, to Gertrude Gawronski with her 4 siblings in Buffalo NY.  She loved horses from an early age, working at nearby stables, horseback riding throughout her life & collecting carousel horses in later years. 

Joan loved visiting parks & spending time outdoors. She enjoyed activities such as golfing, hiking, skiing, running, walking, biking, swimming, boating & rowing. She served many years volunteering at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester & at Theo’s Closet. She was also a long-time member of Lakeshore Country Club.

Joan worked for many years at Delco until she retired in 1998. She nurtured friendships throughout these years. 

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (November 8th) 11:15 AM at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, 168 Spencerport Road, Rochester, N.Y. 14606. 

Friends & family please join us at an after-life celebration at 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 8th, at Red Fedele’s Brook House located at 920 Elm Ridge Center Drive, Rochester, N.Y. 14626 

Memorial donations can be sent to The National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org in her memory.

    Tom and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was a vibrant woman, living life to the max. Her bright smile was proof.
    My late wife Karen and Joan played a lot of golf together. Joan was a bright light. She will be missed by those who were graced with meeting her and here spirit. May she rest in peace.

    Tom and family, What can you say my family was thankful to have you and Joan in our lives.
    So many memories of going to your house and catching fireflies and playing video games.
