Greece: Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at age 61 after a long and very hard-fought battle against liver disease. Predeceased by his father, Howard. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Joshua (Jena) Daggs, Kaleigh (Eric) DeCann, Schuyler Daggs (Bethany Poppenberg), his mother, Margaret Daggs; brothers, Howard Daggs and Steve Daggs; many nieces and nephews; and his close friend Jim McCann. Jerry worked in accounting and finance as a CPA and CFO during his professional career, which he was very proud of. Jerry lived and worked his whole life for his family, which he valued above all else. He had a great love for listening to music and spending time with his family and will be deeply missed.
Jerry’s calling hours will be at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626 on Tuesday, September 15th from 4-7 PM. His Funeral Service will be held at Journey Christian Church, 3955 Mt Read Blvd, Rochester, NY 14616 on Wednesday, September 16th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to University of Rochester Transplant Patient Fund or for UR Medicine liver disease research. The family would like to thank all the incredible providers and medical staff at the University of Rochester for all of their care and support throughout Jerry’s fight.
Josh & Jena – I’m praying for you both along with your surviving family. The trauma of losing a parent is one that ebbs and flows in unpredictable ways. Please know you are not alone and you don’t have to be alone. There are many people in your life that have already walked this path (and still are) that can help you in ways you’d never imagine. Don’t try to carry it all. Give it to God, give it to your friends, it WILL get better. For now – celebrate his life. Celebrate all the beautiful ways he has touched you and forever changed you. I’m so so sorry for your loss
