Jeffery L. Sprague

Rochester, New York, passed away on September 5, 2025 at age 78 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Olean, New York, the beloved son of the late Della and Norman Sprague.

Jeffery is survived by his devoted wife, Esta Sullivan; his sons, Matthew K. Sprague and Jason Sprague; his stepchildren, Christine Shaw (Keith), Karen Sullivan, and Daniel Sullivan; and his cherished step-grandchildren, Shane Callahan, Luke Shaw, and Nadia Shaw. He is also survived by his brother, Gregory Sprague.

Jeffery was a dedicated chemical engineer who worked for the Falk Corporation as well as Schreier-Martin. Beyond his professional life, Jeff found great joy in music. He loved playing his guitar and singing, especially Jimmy Buffett songs and Irish folk tunes. A passionate reader and lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, Jeff was known to don his “Bills uniform” for every game, cheering on his team with great enthusiasm.

Jeffery will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will remember his warmth, humor, and love of life.

Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in Rochester, New York.
