Greece: Jeannine Hampton, the daughter of Donald & Doris DeSantis, born April 22nd 1961 and passed, on September 23rd, 2012. Jeannine was predeceased by her grandparents, John & Nellie Van Allen, her Uncle Bill Watson & her Aunt Edna Peters. Jeannine is survived by her sisters, Doreen DeSantis, Donna Snyder & Cheryl Biehler (Thom), her brother, John P. Hampton (Mary Beth), Uncle Al Watson (Kay) and Aunt Carol Turnbull. Also survived by her beloved nieces, Erin (Pookie) McMann (Tony Miano), Danielle Anderson, & her beloved nephews, Earl (Scooter) McMann Jr., Joey Snyder, J.J. Hampton, Kevin Hampton, Ricky DeSantis, Danny DeSantis & Chris Snyder and the love of her life great nephew Ian Miano. Several Cousins. Jeannine is also survived by special friends Joe & Mary DiCecco, Laura, Mindy, Gina, Sarah & Ernie. Jeannine struggled 33 years as a Quadripilegic but still loved life & lived it to the fullest. She had an agency, called NO PROBLEM AGENCY. Jeannine helped many a person through this agency. She had Fund Raisers to benefit the North Greece Fire Department on Latta Rd. Jeannine had a cookbook published, paying for it out of her own pocket, then sold them to raise money for CAP (Children Awaiting Parents). She collected many articles to donate to various causes. Also Jeannine collected items of need to create care packages to send to or Servicemen & Women overseas. She recycled everything to help our environment. The word that best describes Jeannine is generous—-if you needed anything & she had it—-IT was YOURS!! New Orleans was her team since the beginning of their franchise—she’s been with them through the AINTS and ALL!! Jeannine went to a couple of Sports Dinners. One of which Drew Brees was in attendance & he signed two pictures & a helmet for her. A big highlight for a die hard Saints fan! Before Jeannine had her accident, she was a four Sport Star at Jefferson High, Swimming, Volleyball, Softball & Bowling, taking the 1979 New York State Singles championship. Jeannine loved going out in the neighborhood, where she was well known by everyone & will never be forgotten by those who partied with her! You all know who you are. Throughout Jeannine’s disability, she ‘Stood Tall’ and made everyone around her feel comfortable. Jeannine taught us all that people in wheelchairs are just people & to treat them accordingly. This will be passed on to many generations of family & friends. For this & many other things we thank you Jeannine. You did so much with your life. You encouraged so many people with your Energetic and don’t give up attitude. You will be remembered for all those things which you taught those who were lucky enough to be a part of your life. Jeannine had her own apartment & filled it with love & Strawberries. Jeannine loved being the Boss–& Boss she was to the end! Controlling her own destiny. We will love & miss you forever!! Jeannine’s family would like to thank the ICU staff & the 3400 unit Doctors & staff at Unity Hospital for the love & care that they gave to Jeannine—& a special heartfelt thank you to Beth for comforting not only to Jeannine but also her Mom & Dad’€Thank You ever so much’€we will never forget you. In lieu of flowers, please remember Jeannine by giving to North Greece Road Fire Department, CAP (Children Awaiting Parents) or The Center for Disability Rights. Thank you. Jeannine’s visitation will be held Thursday, September 27th, 2012 2-4PM & 6-9PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long pond Road, Greece Chapel. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
