Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute

Janet’s brilliant smile truly lit every room she entered. She was the life of the party, enjoyed nothing better than big family parties, and vacations with the extended family. She adored her cousins, aunts, and uncles. Janet Ruth was beloved by her sister, Linda LaCrosse (Douglas) Reeves and brother, Richard B. (Leslie) LaCrosse, Jr.; she brought much joy to them. She was deeply loved by her parents who predeceased her, Mary Murphy LaCrosse and Richard Bruce LaCrosse, Sr. They were very proud of her accomplishments and strength of character. She enjoyed her work in school health. She loved her co-workers and the many children she worked with. She worked in the county for several years and was just completing her first year of a well-deserved retirement, despite missing the daily friendship and satisfaction from her work. After the passing of her husband and father of her two daughters, John Paul Spillane, Janet raised their children, Jennifer Michelle (David) Gibson and Jada Marie (Kerry) Loughlin to be strong, self-sufficient, beautiful women with families of their own. She was justifiably proud of her grandchildren, Nicholas, Kyra, John, and Brent. She was devoted and supported them in every way she could. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life. Some of the happiest years of Janet’s life were spent with her surviving spouse, Stephen Leonard. They enjoyed life together, finding love and laughter everywhere be it while traveling or at backyard barbeques. Their future had the promise of much more. Janet’s visitation will be held Thursday, April 28th, 5-8 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd, where her Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 29th, 10AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Autism Speaks, 1023 Commons Way @ Pieter’s Family Life Center, Rochester, NY 14623 in her memory.
