I am so saddened to read of Jim’s passing. My mother, Arlene, always considered him her big brother. I can only imagine the party in heaven welcoming him home! May your memories bring you peace.

To the entire Reynolds family, I am sorry to hear about Uncle Jimmy’s passing. He was such a generous and loving man. His visits to see my Dad when he was alive meant a lot to my Dad. He enjoyed spending time with his brother and often talked about it. He continued the Oswego visits after my Dad passed and would always stop in to see my Mom. I appreciated that he took the time to do that. I have great memories when we were little too when we visited Rochester. I hope the wonderful memories you have of Uncle Jimmy will help you through this difficult time. My prayers are with you all!
Thanks, Mary. Even though Dad moved out of Oswego, Oswego never moved out of him. I know how much it meant to him to be able to go "home" and how much he cherished the time he was able to spend with whomever he was able to see on any particular visit. Those were always easy miles on him.
I will always remember when my mom called Uncle Jimmy to tell him when she became a grandma for the first time when Lauren was born. He was so excited for her and then she told him her name was Lauren Elizabeth. He said, “Wait that can’t be my granddaughter is named Lauren Elizabeth how will we tell them apart?” Like Mary said, his wit will always be remembered! I also remember when I was little and living in NC, my mom getting the phone call that he had had a heart attack and wanting all the details. A thousand prayers were said and answered as he went on to live a full life with his family- complete with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always know how much he loved them. And he will carry their love for him and all of our love with him. I also remember watching the beautiful video made when he and you, Aunt Carol, celebrated your 50th Wedding Anniversary. He truly loved you and that love will always be. Although it’s never easy having to let go, it helps knowing the reunion he has had with Grandma (Frieda), Grandpa (Art), Uncle Ronnie, Mike and Adrianna Reynolds, my mom, Aunt Mary, Arlene Blum, Uncle Jackie and Aunt Junie. One day at a time …
Dear Reynolds family, I met Jim at Cardiac rehab quite a few years ago. I arrived earlier than him and he was attracted to my St. Louis Cardinal shirts that I wore on occasion. He told me that he too was a Cardinal fan and that was nice to hear among the many Yankee fans there. We became good friends and each day we were Monday morning quarterbacks discussing the ills of the Cardinals whenever they lost a game. About 4 years ago Jim disappeared from Rehab and I had no idea what had happened. About 4 or 5 months later, he reappeared and told me he had a bad case of the flu which he could not shake. I was glad to have him back and had someone to share our views on our favorite team. Alas, after a short while he again disappeared, and I never saw him again. I missed him and did not even know where he lived. I will miss Jim and please accept my deep condolences for your loss of a wonderful person. Sam Farah
I had Jim for an instructor at RIT, He was the most considerate, professional and BEST teacher I ever had. He was a great guy, and someone who could teach you anything. I have since became a college professor myself, and have modeled my teaching style after Jim’s. I’ll never forget his kindness.
