Irene Catherine Kamp

Irene Catherine Ehrstein Kamp, age 92, died December 31, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents, Aloysius and Irene Ehrstein, by her brothers, Wilfred and Gerald Ehrstein, and her sister, Geraldine Kassman. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Arthur J. Kamp, her sister, Ann Hallinean, and her children, Arthur Kamp, Jr. and wife Barbara, Richard Kamp and wife Claire, Janet McLean and husband Doug, and Stephen Kamp and fiancée Micaela. Also surviving Irene are her grandchildren: Sara Kamp Collins and husband Scott, Nathaniel Kamp and wife Elizabeth, Jeffrey McLean and wife Lindsey, Stuart McLean and wife Jackie, and Connor Kamp, and great-grandchildren Maya, Sophia, Michael, Benjamin, Caroline, Alan, Audrey and Colin. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Irene was active in volunteer work for much of her life, working in the cafeteria, library, and sacristy of St. Amelia’s School and Church in Buffalo, in the TWIG shop at the former Park Ridge Hospital in Greece, and the library at West Ridge Elementary School, also in Greece, to name a few. Irene’s visitation will be Thursday, January 7, 2016 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece NY, where her funeral service will follow at 7PM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home.
