Greece: Suddenly, February 12, 2010 Hunter became our guardian angel. Predeceased by his opa, Eugene Resch. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Susan Resch; great-grandmother, Helen Ras; grand-parents, Thomas (Cheryl) Ras & Carol (Kurt) Gurgel; aunts and uncles, Jennifer (Robert) Maggi, Thomas Ras, Lawrence Resch; Donna (Richard) Makowski, Sheila Resch, Sandra (Dan) Rockafellow & Carla (Terry) Vick; cousins, Ashlee & Nicholas Maggi; Michael, Andy & Ben Rockafellow; Connor & Tristan Vick and William & Katie Resch; several great aunts, great uncles, second and third generation cousins; countless friends. Hunter had many friends at Paddy Hill School and Cub Scout Pack 14. He was known as “Mayor of Paddy Hill”. Hunter loved Cub Scouts, fishing and building Lego’s. He truly was a shining star to all who knew him. He had an infectious smile that could light up a room and turn any frown into a smile. Friends may call Tuesday 2-6 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, Greece Chapel, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday 9:30A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Avenue. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cub Scout Pack 14 or to a foundation that will be formed in Hunter’s memory.

Although I do not know you, I grieve with you. Hunter was taken much way too soon. Know that he is with our Lord walking streets of gold. Lean on the Lord for comfort and peace. Only He can give a peace that passes all understanding. Seek His face when you need strength and peace. Find comfort in the Word of God. In time you will smile again every time you think of Hunter. Keep faith alive and know that one day you will see Hunter again. Stay strong in the Lord!

  20. Connie Rodriguez on September 28, 2012 at 12:00 am

Dear Sue: So what does one tell a mom who looses a child? I’m sorry? My condolences? My mother once told me that there is not greater pain than the pain of loosing a child. My purpose in this note is to acknowledge your pain. I can’t tell you of when or if things will get better. I have no words or gestures to make it better. A child to a mother is her heart, soul and existance so Hunter’s heart, soul and very existance will always live in you.

  50. Sharon Johnson on September 28, 2012 at 12:00 am

I’ve never met you or your Son Hunter but as a Mom myself with a similar situation with the courts and an ex and visitation, I feel compelled to write you, God Bless you Sue and Hunter may time heal your pain and faith and love guide you through… My heart breaks for you! When God calls our children to dwell with Him above, We mortals sometimes question the wisdon of His love. For no heartache compares with, the death of one small child. Who does so much to make our world, seem so wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold. So He picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few. To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try. The saddest word mankind knows will always be Good-bye. So when a little child departs, we who are left behind, Must realize God loves children. Angels Are Hard To Find!!

Sue, Words seem so insignificant. I cannot even fathom what you must be going through. Hunter was such a happy, silly little guy. I still remember when he came to Nick’s 5th b-day part at Dewey Gardens. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hope that your heart will be less broken someday.

  117. Aimee Skibickyj on September 28, 2012 at 12:00 am

To Hunter’s Family, We don’t know each other, but I was just so saddened by reading about Hunter in the paper. I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your beautiful son, Hunter. In the pictures in the paper, he looks like a child that was very well loved & happy. I’ve never been faced with a circumstance such as this & pray my ex never does this. I did lose a son after two weeks of life, due to prematurity. This is an extremely hard time, I know. My best advice is to remember all of your wonderful memories of Hunter & write them down. It’s a bit soon to say, but celebrating his life & who he was will all come in time. I pray that God gives you the strength to get through this tragedy & help you heal in time. Hunter will always be with you. I don’t have much money to donate to the Cub Scouts at this time, but I will donate in Hunter’s name when I am able. You are in my prayers, Aimee Skibickyj

  118. Tracie Strong on September 28, 2012 at 12:00 am

To Hunter’s mom-You are in my thoughts and prayers ever since I heard of this tragedy. I have no children of my own so I can not begin to even comprehend what you are going through. I have worked with children for many, many years and love all of God’s Children, but feel strongly that Hunter was a special child sent here for a special purpose. His purpose will carry on. Hunter is not gone, his life form has changed but he is very much with you always. He will give you strength from above. May God’s white light comfort all of Hunter’s family, especially his mother, his friends, and his teachers, cub scout leaders and all the children and staff at Paddy Hill and give you all strength during this difficult time.
