Helen L. McCarthy

Helen L. McCarthy (Momma Mac) Rochester: January 30th, 2024, at age 82. Mama Mac passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, John; her children, Lori, Michael and Bridget; her parents George and Ruth Herring; brother, George W. Jr. She is survived by her children, Molly McCarthy (Tina Paternostro), Kevin McCarthy, Katy (Gary) Kowalczyk; her sister, Kathy (Roger) Hurysz; grandchildren, Christopher, Britter, Katelynn, Sean, Erin, Tyler, Andy, Renee, Ellison, & Joey as well as many other family and framily. Helen worked many jobs throughout her life but was very proud of her time as a machine operator at Kodak. She also trained and worked to be an OTR truck driver after her husband‘s passing. She was always the life of the party, and believed a good relationship was formed on a great joke. Once she retired, she enjoyed many trips with her various loved ones. She knew how to make people feel very special, no matter who you were. She loved crafting with her grandchildren and sharing her favorite poems and songs with anyone that she could. She also loved animals of any kind. There truly was no one like her. Friends may call Friday, February 2nd, 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Feb 3rd, 12 NOON in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm or St Jude Children’s Hospital in her honor.
