Rochester: Monday, July 27, 2026 at age 87. Predeceased by his father, Francis Murphy, mother, Christina Murphy, brother, Francis (Frank) Murphy, sister, Edith Hebert. Survived by his sister, Isa Bourke of Ireland; nephew, Lloyd (Patty) Murphy, niece, Christina (Dennis) McCrone, nephew, Maurice (Chris) Hebert, niece Donna (Bill) Walz, niece, Laurie Hebert, niece, Adrianne (Mike) Stewart, nephew Kenny (Val) Hebert and several other nieces and nephews in U.S. and Ireland. Harold was born in Ireland and was very much involved in the Irish Community here in the US. He enjoyed dancing, especially loved Ceili dancing in which he would participate in Irish festivals and parades with many of his partners. Harold worked at General Motors and in his spare time took on many projects: built his own garage, roofed his house and spent many hours on his land in Lima. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t tackle from baking delicious bailey’s cheesecakes to fixing watches and repairing cars. Harold was always busy but also had time for his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all! A Very Special Thanks to The Friendly Home for The Exceptional Care he received in Lee Place, the Staff will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Harold’s visitation will be held on Saturday (August 8th) 9-11 AM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will follow calling at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dementia Society in his memory.
