It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harold “Hal” Edward Alexander on May 15, 2025 in Greece, New York. Harold was born on 3/4/1937 in Rochester, New York. He was the son of Henry and Helen (Alheim) Alexander. He was a graduate of Monroe High School and received his bachelor’s degree from The Rochester Institute of Technology. He went on to be an Industrial Engineer, working longest at Gleason Works. He also taught night classes at The Rochester Institute of Technology for many years. Harold enjoyed photography, camping, baseball, and took an avid joy in music.
As a teenager, he attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church on Meigs Street in the city of Rochester. That was where he met the love of his life and the woman that would become his wife Donna (Failey). They married in June of 1960 and had three children, Jill (Jeff) DeVeronica (daughter), Eileen (Tom Johnson) Alexander (daughter), and Todd Alexander, (son). Later, he became the grandfather of Elisabeth Wechsler, Sean Wechsler, Alexander Nicholson, Sara Nicholson, Dylan Alexander. He also became a great grandfather after the birth of Dominic Lee-Nicholson.
He was preceded in death by Henry and Helen Alexander (parents), George Alexander (brother), Helen Giroux (sister).
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandson.
Friends may call Monday (May 19th) 4-7 PM at Vay Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, followed by his remembrance service at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. His Committal Service will be held Tuesday (May 20th) 10:00 AM in White Haven Memorial Park.
We will miss Hal at our Monroe High School class of 67 monthly lunches.
