Gladys was such a blessing to the golden agers from Northridge church whom visited so failthfully and joyfully. We appreciated her joyful spirit and willing servants heart.
I will miss seeing Gladys in her favorite pew at church where she would always make room for me when church was crowded. With so many new faces her familar smile was always welcome. Thursday mornings at the Jail ministry will never be the same – what a faithful servant our Gladys was. I am so grateful to have had the priviledge of knowing and working with her. Till we meet again. Mary McKinley
I will really miss Gladys. She was a dear friend to my parents. When my Mom(Helen Karr) had to go to a nursing home because her Alzheimers had progressed, it was such a blessing for me to walk in her room and know that Gladys had been in to visit her during the week. There was usually a card and a little plant, candy, etc. After my Mom died, my Dad and Gladys teamed up to visit the shut ins together. When Dad’s (Jim Karr) eyesight got too bad to drive, Gladys faithfully picked him up every Sunday to go to church. Again, it was a blessing to me to hear my Dad say Gladys is here, gotta go !! I will miss her sweet smile and her willing spirit to help others. I can hear all her friends right now who have gone before her to heaven saying ‘Gladys is here !!!! ‘ What joy she must be experiencing now as she sees her loved ones again. But most important I can imagine her Lord and Savior putting His arms around her and saying ‘Welcome home — well done thy good and faithful servant.’
Miss you.
We are so sorry for your loss. It truly is our loss as well. I’ve never met anyone like Gladys. Constantly caring for others, smiling, and always with the kindest words. Five years ago, before my dad Don Wood left for Heaven, he asked me to take over the email Prayer Chain. Gladys was always one of my best ‘reporters.’ She was so faithful to visit those in nursing homes or who weren’t feeling well. Then, she would call, telling me how to update everyone. I will miss our talks. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
