Greece: Died peacefully, August 29, 2009 at age 81. Predeceased by his parents, Aloysius & Julia Lenhard; sisters, Lucille Lenhard, RSM & Mary Jane (Lenhard) Baumann. He is survived by his special friend, Geraldine Studeman; sons, Gerard Lenhard, Glenn (Gayle) Lenhard of Florida & Gil (Rebecca) Lenhard of California; daughter, Lizette (Gary) Jones of Florida; brother, Dr. Aloysius (Barbara) Lenhard; sister, Betty Ann Lenhard; brother-in-law, Richard Baumann of Ohio; uncle, Gerald Lenhard; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins; loyal friend, Charlotte Caudle; many dear friends. Gerard worked at Eastman Kodak, in the A & OD Division for over 30 years, retiring at age 55. He is also a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served as Chief Petty Officer for over 6 years, with duty on the USS Campbell and Eagle. Gerard spent his retirement years living on his own island in the Lake of the Isles, Thousand Islands, NY. Services held privately in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.

Gerry will be greatly missed in my family.besides being my moms best friend and significant other for the last forty years, he has ben a father to me and loving grandfather to my children. I will never forget the wonderful times we shared in the islands. I had the pleasure of spending almost a year helping him to rebuild Snake Island where i learned many things including how to pound a galvanized nail! I cant begin to list the good times- ice fishing for pike were also some of the best! My chidren katie and billy shared just as many wonderful times with him learning, laughing and fishing with G-Pa Gerry! We will miss him and his sence of humor more than he will ever know.Charlie will even miss him barking at him! We love you ‘Gramps’ You will forever be in our hearts, memories and prayers.
i worked with Jerry at kodak from 65 till he retired. he was a very dear feriend and helped me prefect my toolmakeing trade rest in peace
Jerry has been a member of our extended family for 40 years. He was a kind and caring man and we will miss him greatly. My Uncle Gerard passed away this week. I hardly saw him and when I did, he had few words to say. I actually have fond memories of being at his house when we were little. I remember a clam bake with salt potatoes. I remember Uncle Gerard adding lots of salt and pepper to salt potatoes and to ham. He had a built in pool that was always cold, but once you got used to it, it was all fun. He lived in a split level house. I remember a white Christmas tree in the living room with purple and pink bulbs on it. We had dinners at the table with Grandma Lenhard. My cousin had a easy bake oven to make desert in. There was a white cat that was deaf. I remember my cousin listening to music and Aunt Lucille listening with him. It was some wild rock music. He is now a musicain. My other cousin played the piano beautifully. I banged on it until my mother told me to stop. About a quarter of a centry ago, Uncle Gerard moved to an island. It was very rustic. He lived there in the nice seasons and closed up in the winter. Last weekend was the last time I saw him. He was relaxed and comfortable in the hospital bed. I saw him smile. I think I saw him smile one or two other times in my life. He smiled when he retired. He smiled at a Christmas present my Dad gave him once. I bet my father has many more memories of his older brother. And his daughter and 3 sons have many more memories. I pray he is peacefully in God’s hands.

To the Lenhard children, I wish to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. It is very difficult to lose a parent. I remember your Father being a very good man and provider. I also remember him being an extremely quiet man. I imagine he was very happy on his island at the 1000 islands. It is such a beautiful place. We have taken many rides on the boat that tours the islands (the Uncle Sam). It’s God’s handiwork! My memories of all of you were while you grew up on Rhea Crescent. Lizette and Gil spent time at my home while your Mom and I would have a cup of morning or afternoon coffee. Gil was very young and Lizette couldn’t pronouce Mrs. Sciarratta. Carol, would have been fine by me Lizette, but your Mom didn’t want you to call me by my first name, so you called me Miss Carol. I just recently told someone that I think of you, Lizette, when I go outside to pick mint for cooking. You always liked the mint and you use to say ‘Miss Carol, can I take some mint home with me?’ It’s still growing in the same place on the side of my garage. It would be nice if things would stay the same but unfortunately we all grow older and things do change. I hope the Lord has a special place for your Father in heaven. I hope he didn’t suffer. You were a close friend for many years and I regret that our friendship ended and we no longer communicated. I will always remember all the good times and hope that someday we will meet again. I hope that that fishing and hunting are allowed in your final resting place. God Speed….. Chip
