A class act and a true professional. I was saddened to hear of his passing just yesterday. He was my first MD at the Rochester VA OPC, and always ‘spot on’ in his diagnoses, recommendations, and most importantly, his counsel.
David and Family, Gerry was my Father’s doctor at Wilson Center then at the VA. My Father loved Gerry as a person and as a great doctor. I had the honor of working with him at the VA for a brief time. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Take care and God Bless you all. Lynn M. Abaied
Dear Bobbie: I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Please accept my sympathy and prayerful thoughts at this time. May all your cherished memories sustain and comfort you and your family. Margaret-Anne
Dear Jerry, My deepest sympathies to you and your family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly, Nancy Wayman
Dr. Eckert was my dad’s doctor and friend for many years…the Wilson Center, VA and finally at Latta Road Nursing Home. He brought peace and dignity to dad at the end of his life and was there for the family after Dad passed. I know Dad met him at the gates and they are talking Town of Greece business now. May you know that Dr. Eckert touched many lives, especially the Kintz family from Latta Road. God bless you all during this difficult time.
Elaine, Carolyn & Family…. I am so so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Although I did not know him, I could tell by your love for him, he must have been a very special person. My sincerest sympathy…
He was our doctor for many years and what a great doctor he was! Most people dread going to the doctor, but not us. He was so easy to talk to, listened to you and you actually felt better when you left his office no matter what. Our sympathies to his family and to let you know he was liked and loved by his patients. May God give all of you peace and comfort during this time.

My deepest sympathies to Dr. Eckert’s family. Dr. Eckert was my PCP at the VA Clinic on Westfall. I always found him to be kind, understanding and supportive. He helped me get over sume rough spots connected to some medical issues I had. I missed him a great deal when he retired from the VA.
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. He was a very fortunate person to have such a wonderful and loving family. You are blessed to have had him with you this many years.
Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Dr. Eckert was my PCP with the Veteran’s administration. He was one of a kind and will be missed.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
Thank- you for all your care while I was in Rochester General for 8 weeks in 1997. May God bless you.
I first met Dr Eckert in July of 1965 recently graduated from medical school in Argentina;.
My English was literally zero.
He was kind and understanding “don’t worry, you will learn it “he said.
I was impressed by his positive attitude and willingness to help people..
I never forgot what he told me one day, phrase that i have used many times talking with young people “it doesn’t matter where you start, is where you finish”
Now i am on my eighties , during the course of the years I have interacted with so many doctors but the image of Jerry Eckert has always been with me.
