Greece: January 14, 2015 at age 94. Predeceased by his wife Irene Ward. Survived by his children, Rick Ward (Sue Ward), Stephen (Christine) Ward, Barbara (Ed) Schindler; grandchildren, Maribeth (Greg) Cinelli, Daniel and Christopher Ward, Kate and Molly Schindler and Tara (Aaron) Leon; many loving family and dear friends. George was born May 23, 1920 and is a proud veteran of the United States Army and served our country in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Greece Memorial Post #206, a lifelong member of the ITU, he taught at Erie County Community College, a communicant of St. Lawrence Parish and at age 90, a published author. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. George’s visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20th 10-11AM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, where his Funeral Service will follow at 11AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to a charity of one’s choice in his memory.     I have had the honor to take George on Honor Flight as His Guardian.
    I was also George’s Commander for a few years at Greece Memorial Post 206.
    My Prayers are with George’s Family
