Getzville, NY: September 22, 2012. Predeceased by her parents, Mary Kimber Clement and Walter Clement. Gail resided for 46 years on Dorothy Avenue in Rochester. She married Clement Olson and moved to Buffalo in 1984. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1955, Fredonia State College in 1959 and a Master of Music Education in 1964. She taught elementary vocal music for 25 years in the Rochester City Schools. She started piano lessons at age 4 and violin at age 8. Her hobbies were completing family history and genealogies for 8 different branches of her family. She was an avid letter writer, corresponding with over 75 family and friends including a pen pal she met in 1945 from Wales. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, x-stitch and other crafts. She was active in the Amherst Senior Center for over 15 years playing bridge and pinochle. Her love of travel took her to many countries including, India, Iceland, Hawaii, England and Wales. Her love of theatre took her to Niagara-On-The-Lake for many seasons. She also spent many summers at Chautauqua Institute, enjoying concerts and lectures. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist church since she was three years old and St. Paul’s Lutheran in Williamsville. Gail is survived by special friends, Joanne case and Barb Wilkens and many cousins. Her Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 7th, 4 P.M. in the Chapel of Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, Greece Chapel, 1075 Long Pond Road. Interment held privately in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chautauqua Institute, Memorial Scholarships, Chautauqua NY 14722.
