Greece: Suddenly, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at age 23. Predeceased by his father, Joseph C. Smith; maternal grandfather, Frederick Lyke. Survived by his loving mother, Nanon; sisters and brothers, Alison (J.P.), Rachel, Charlotte, Joseph W. (Joi), Theresa (Mike), Alex (Saru) Carissa and Joseph C. (Leigh); maternal grandmother, Nancy Lyke; 2 special nephews, Jonah and Henry; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his dear friend, Randy. Fred was a beloved son, brother, uncle. He was also a devoted caretaker providing support to his family; especially to his mother, grandparents and nephews. He was an exceptional artist and genius craftsman. He was known for his sense of humor and his quiet kindness. He will be sadly missed. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16th 4-7 at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd. His Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday, Febuary 17th at 10AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church, 1250 English Rd. Interment Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make contributions to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Rochester, 37 S. Washington St., Rochester, NY 14608 in his memory.     I’m sorry the weather prevented me from coming. I have such fond memories of Freddie as a sweet little boy in my Primary class.
