Having recently learned of the loss of your loved one I extend my deepest sympathy to you. During this difficult time I wanted to share the hope found in the Bible, the hope of the resurrection. Jesus stated at John 5:28,29 ‘The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus] voice and come out.’ And at Revelation 21:3,4 it states that there will be a time when ‘death will be no more.’ These scriptures give us hope for the future as respects to our dead loved ones. Those scriptures have brought comfort to me and my family and I hope it does the same for your family. Sorry for your loss.

    Hi Rick,
I worked for Carl and Earl sometimes from 1977-1980. Summers those years I brought the world’s best tomatoes out of the greenhouses and layed them gingerly on the old flatbed trailer. Later, after all that were ready and picked from that day, I stood at the end of the flatbed loaded-down with the unsorted baskets, while the two greatest brothers I’ve ever known sorted the produce into 1s, 2s, and Rs (roughs). Looking back, those were some of the best days – spent laughing, listening to and sometimes part of the banter and repartee. I remember that one week or so each summer when the brothers would help Elsie and Ruth set up a stand by Stone Rd. I loved your people like own family, and they continue-on in my heart. I was also Carl’s & Earl’s paperboy – wow, that was so long ago. Doesn’t time fly? I might have only met you once or twice – but my how Carl talked proudly of you. I remember Earl’s uncommon pride and quiet strength, and the same for Carl. Carl had a Christian faith, and for some reason I think of the statements in the Apostle’s Creed, and how Carl would mean that we who remain never forget them. My wife is Susan, whom she said talked to you from Services For Seniors, when you were moving Elsie to Michigan. She said you were very nice on the phone. I said, ‘Oh yes, Rick is every bit gentleman, and a heck of an engineer.’ God’s blessings.
