Elaine B. Fahselt
Elaine passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born September 15, 1944, in Seneca Falls, NY to the late Eugene and Evelyn (Post) Bishop. Elaine adored her two brothers, Edward (Catherine) Bishop and the late Elwyn (Wendi) Bishop along with her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her beloved dog, Eli.
After graduating from Delhi in 1964, Elaine moved to Rochester, NY and took a job as an administrative assistant at Kodak where she met and married her late husband, Robert Fahselt. When she retired, Elaine was able to pursue her love of golf by becoming a starter/ranger at a golf course, joining leagues, and playing in several tournaments. Elaine particularly loved volunteering year-round for the local LPGA tournament, as Ticket Coordinator, because she saw it as one way she could contribute to making a difference in the lives of children. For her dedicated volunteerism, Elaine received “The Elke Maney Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award” in 2004. Elaine also cherished the life-long friendships she made over her many years of volunteering for the tournament.
In 2012 Elaine began what would be more than a decade of volunteering for Honor Flight Rochester (HFR). Over the years, Elaine devoted her time in many ways from sorting mail, to overseeing donations, to sending out thank you notes, to being HFR’s Registrar, to attending every imaginable event. In 2023 Elaine received the Woody Mench Volunteer of the Year Award. She loved meeting with and honoring the veterans.
Elaine had a remarkable ability to connect with people and was loved by everyone who ever met her. She made a point to always help anyone with whatever she could. She will be remembered for her remarkable generosity and kindness. And, of course, we will always picture her beautiful smile and the twinkle in her eye that let us know just how much she loved each of us.
Thank you to the UR Medicine Home Hospice Program. They provided Elaine with excellent and compassionate medical, emotional, and informational support.
We will have a celebration of Elaine’s life in the springtime.
She was one of my best friend. I will miss her bright eyes and her wonderful smile. Knowing her and being around her made me a better person. Elaine was a true friend.

She was so friendly and s big help when I started volunteering for Honor Flight Rochester
My dear loving friend I have so many wonderful memories of you when we were sorority sisters (ABX) at Delhi. Over the many years of laughing and telling tales, you made me smile. I will never forget your kindness and love. Now you can play golf among the beautiful clouds! 🌹
Elaine will always be present in our hearts and prayers. HFR was blessed by her energy and friendliness.
Elaine always had a smile at all the Honor Flight Events that she Volunteered for. In my early days of Volunteering with HFR she was always willing to give me help and guidance whenever I needed it. She was always kind to all the people she met and knew. I was proud to call her my friend. She will be missed dearly.
I knew Elaine from many years of volunteering at the LPGA. She was a pleasure to be around, so kind and generous.
God speed Elaine. You were always one of my favorites with honor flight. Always a warm smile and kind word. It was a true honor to know you. Rest well we’ll take it from here.
I remember Elaine from my Kodak days. She was always a sweet and kind person. I am so sorry for your loss.
Elaine’s smile would light up a room and how did she ever light up a room! Having know Elaine through Honor Flight Rochester, I can’t imagine not seeing her at the welcome home’s, events and dinners. Elaine, we loved you, will miss you, and will carry your spirt in our hearts! Rest easy now my friend. God Bless you!
My mom Debbie was Elaine and Bob’s server at Critic’s for many years. They developed a strong friendship together. They helped my mom set up the first family PC, babysat my brother and I as kids, and Elaine joined us almost every year for my mom’s yearly memorial dinner after her passing in 2010. Elaine was one of the kindest people I ever met. She helped assist my grandfather on his honor flight and he had a fantastic time with her! I will always remember the way she smiled and winked at me from across the room. She will be dearly missed.
We so enjoyed our neighbor and golf aficionado and are sad to hear of her passing.
Our condolences to Elaine’s family and many friends.
