Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Donna passed peacefully in her home with family by her side on September 13, 2022 at age 83. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul Snell and is survived by four children, Keith (Liz) Law of Medford, OR, Brenda Tea of Rochester, Scott (Andrea) Law of Clarence, NY, Mark (Mary) Law of Cuba, NY; four stepchildren, Janet Fees of North Tonawanda, NY, Robert (Deborah) Snell of Scituate, MA, Virginia Prill of Rochester, Sharon (Ken) Bartter of Rochester; 25 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Donna, born in Charlevoix, MI, held a Masters degree in Reading Education and taught elementary school in the Greece Central School District for over 20 years. It was important to her to mentor and support other teachers to help them grow in their careers. She enjoyed biking, camping, birding, spending winters in Florida and Arizona, and vacationing abroad including trips to Europe and China. Donna also loved to read. She and her husband routinely did the newspaper crossword puzzles as well as actual puzzles on a card table in the kitchen. She loved her yard and her gardens and she spent a lot of time gardening. Donna’s house is a mirror into her life: neat, tidy, orderly yet warm and sentimental. She wanted to stay there until the end and that she did with the help of her children. She spent a lot of time, and energy, on their grandchildren. She talked about them all the time and was always up to date on what each was doing in their lives. With 25 of them, that was quite an accomplishment in and of itself. Friends may call Saturday, September 24th, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life at 12:00PM in the chapel of Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. The service will be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/Meesonfamily/events. Private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society at www.audubon.org in her memory. For more information and to sign her online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com
Our sympathy is extended to your family as you celebrate the life of your Mother. May fond memories bring you comfort. Don has good memories of the summers he spent in Charlevoix with your Mom as they were growing up. May God give you comfort and peace in the days to come.
Brenda, my prayers are with you during this time.
So sorry for the loss of your mom Brenda, Keith and family.Donna was a lovely person. I had the honor of being one of her caregivers during her last year or two. She loved her secret stash of candy in the drawer next to her chair, watching jeopardy and Ellen on TV. Watching her beautiful birds eating at the feeder from her window and loved her kitties, reading her books and telling me, the best that she could about her charished children and grandchildren. I was said when I didn’t get to be with her anymore. I looked forward to those times I had the pleasure to spend with my. dear sweet Donna. Rest in peace my sweet friend. See you again.
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother Brenda. Praying for you and your family.
My family was so sorry to hear the news from you that Donna had passed. She was a wonderful, thoughtful, caring, supportive friend. I felt blessed to also know her as a fifth grade team member for many years before she retired. We shared so many beautiful and fun memories in and out of school. Our special bond was we were both born and raised in Michigan and graduates of Michigan State University. But our paths were meant to cross in Greece, at Brookside School, where she was a devoted teacher, important leader, and always there for her fellow teachers with her expertise and compassionate manner. I loved Donna, will miss her so much, and will cherish my memories of our time together. Rita Kiser
So sorry for your loss. She is now with her beloved husband Paul.
Donna was a warm and gentle individual! She taught for many years in Greece, and I had the privilege of being her colleague for much of that time. Eventually I met Paul Snell, and by then they became almost inseparable. My husband a d I were fortunate enough to spend quality time with both of them, outside of the classroom. Along with a regular circle of friends ,from” back in the day”,we have such pleasant memories of our times together.May her family be consoled during these difficult days by knowing how much she was loved, and by so many!
