I knew Don my entire life. Don always exemplified a true gentleman possessing an impecable character, an ever-sharp wit, genuine kindness, and generosity of spirit. It is fair to say that Don was a fine example of what we hope every man aspires to be in life. A man true to himself; true to his family and friends. Don will be missed.

I’ve known Don for 11 years, since joining the VFW. He served as our Chaplain and I always considered him to be our ‘moral compass’ when it came to making decisions. He was a true gentleman, a good friend, and, I suspect, a real unsung hero of World War II. He was one individual who made a distinct impression on me and I’m proud to have known him. May he rest in peace.

Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. He will be missed. My sister and I grew up living next door to Don and Vera. They were always part of our ‘family’ get togethers. The back gate was always open… and still is…
