It was with great shock and disbelief when we learned of Don’s passing. We met Don and Joann in the Florida community we all wintered in. On a warm sunny day Don could always be seen sitting outside in a lawn chair soaking in the sun. His presence is greatly missed by all. We send our sincere sympathy to Joann and their entire family.
Jerry and I send our sincere sympathy to the Harter family. We have many fond memories of Don from sitting outside at the end of his driveway soaking up the sun to performing in our local talent show. He will be missed.
My dear Mr Harter – you were a special light in our lives. Full of life and a great conversationalist. You made us all feel so welcome down at the lake – those memories will be cherished forever. Your smile, your hugs, seeing you drive up the road in your golfcart, sitting in the sun, waving to you from the water, countless picnics…may you rest easy in Heaven. We know you’ll watch over us. With love always!!!!â¤ï¸

So sad to hear Don has passed. I’ve known him for over 60 years from our Charlotte High School years ( Don was one year behind me ) through Kodak to the Hilton years. I recall the last time I saw him . It was before the Hilton Carnival Parade . Our Generations Band had lined up at Merton Williams School and I was making my way up to the parade route to do my backwards videotaping of our band when by the Firehouse I heard someone calling my name. I looked and it was Don. I went over and hugged him . We talked a bit and he said ‘ See you in the Zoo’ and off I went.
Rest in peace dear friend . A great guy and a class act .
So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He was a good friend and will be sadly missed.
