Dionisio “Dion, Danny” Marinaccio, 81, of Rochester, NY, passed away on July 12, 2024. Born in Savignano Irpino, Avellino, Italy, on November 10, 1942, he was a cherished son to the late Nicola and Angiolina Marinaccio. Dionisio was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps, having served with distinction during the Vietnam War.

A man of many passions, Dionisio was known for his love of hot rods, NASCAR, and gardening. His diligent, reserved, and selfless nature made him a beloved figure in his community and a pillar in his family. He was a true hero, always eager to share his extensive knowledge of history, a subject he adored. His resilience and selflessness shone brightly, especially during family gatherings, which he cherished deeply.

Dionisio is survived by his loving wife, Betty J. Marinaccio; son, Nicholas and his wife, Mary Marinaccio, and their daughter Clara; daughter, Diona M. Marinaccio; sister, Antonietta Barbone; brothers, Angelo and his wife Judy Marinaccio and Joseph and his wife Sue Marinaccio; and sister, Fausta and her husband, Daniel Morganti. He was predeceased by his sisters, Michelina Marseglia, Anna Maria Marseglia, and Immaculata “Maggie” Volpe.

His Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Vay-Schleich & Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626. In place of flowers, contributions may be made to Veteran’s Outreach of Rochester at (https://veteransoutreachcenter.org/ways-to-donate), honoring Dionisio’s commitment to fellow veterans.

Dionisio’s legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

    A good man and a full life. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow. My prayers are with his family and friends.

    I will always remember Mr. M as the second father of my childhood and teen years. He was a very special man and I will always have a place in my heart for him. So many memories growing up of him and the family and I will cherish those forever. I will truly miss him.
