Rochester: Thursday, November 27, 2008. Predeceased by his mother, Jeane Bumpus. Survived by his father, Kenneth Bumpus; step-mother, Kathleen Bumpus; brother, Scott Bumpus; sister, Linda (Derek) Wilson; nieces, Nia & Mariel; many dear friends Friends may call Sunday 2-4 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held Monday 10:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment, Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his memory.
I just heard that Denny has passed away and was so surprised and saddened by the news. Denny was my first boyfriend and I will always remember jitterbugging with him in the auditorium at Hoover Drive, in fact we won a dance contest together in 5th of 6th grade – a bicycle and dinner at the restaurant on the Lake – the name escapes me now. I had heard from Fred Duggan just a few months ago when I was visiting my parents from my and my husband Gene’s home in New York City. He told me where Denny was and at Christmas I was going to visit. Best laid plans of mice and men, as they say. In any event, I will always remember Denny fondly and send my thoughts to you Ken, Linda and Scotty and all the friends and family Denny accumulated over the years, as I am sure he did. LOVE, Diane
