Greece: Peacefully at rest Feb. 12, 2019, at age 81. Born to Merton and Sarah Switzer of Painted Post NY, David went on to earn his degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. He moved to San Francisco, a city that always held a special place in his heart, where he met and married his wife of 53 years, Judith Shults, a Rochester native. In 1965 they traveled to Saudi Arabia where he began a dynamic and fascinating career working in the oil industry for Saudi ARAMCO. He was passionate about his life and work in the Middle East. His final years he resided at St Ann’s Home where his struggle with dementia was aided by the compassionate care he received. An extremely devoted husband and father, he was deeply loved. He will be remembered for his humor, great intellectual curiosity, generosity of spirit, and enthusiasm for life. He is predeceased by his brother, James. He is survived by his wife, Judith, and daughter, Michele. A memorial mass will be held Thursday Feb. 21st 11 AM at St. Ann’s chapel, 1500 Portland Ave. Contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Community or charity of one’s choice in his memory. I was so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. He truly made those around him feel happy and loved — his humour, kindness and joie de vivre was inspiring. Sending our prayers and condolences to Judy and Michele.
We will never forget our dear friend David. His smile and laughter was infectious. Our love and condolences are sent to Judy and Michelle.

It was very sad to hear of David’s illness and death. Dave was a funny, enjoyable, very bright guy who I thoroughly enjoyed. We worked together on Safaniya area projects in Saudi Arabia and David was always a favorite and significant contributor.
Judy, I was so sorry to read of David’s passing. It is never easy losing your husband no matter what the circumstances. You and Michele are in my thoughts and prayers.
Dave was a person I will never forget, even thought it’s been many years since we worked together in the 1980s for Saudi Aramco in Facilities Planning. He had a keen intellect, a practical engineering sense, humility, a great sense of humor, and a deep understanding of human nature. He was also a very good friend to Linda and myself. God bless you, Dave.
I’m very sad to hear of Dave’s passing. We worked together when I was a relative new hire at Aramco and I’ll always remember him for his professionalism and good-nature. My condolences to Judy and Michele on your loss. RIP.
Judy, we are so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. While we Aramcons all go our separate ways, we always cherish the many happy times and memories we shared so long ago. Dave was a special person in so many ways and I always enjoyed working with him.

David and I were very sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. Please accept our deepest and sincerest condolence. The Aramco family is vast and we are filled with affection for all we knew in the ‘sand’. It is true that many of us do not stay in touch directly, but the wind and emails always carry news of those we have known. We stay in touch without speaking or corresponding directly. We have known of David’s struggles for many years. May he now rest in peace.
Dear Judy, News of Dave’s passing was a heavy blow. He was a delight to be around and it was an honor to work with him. He was quick as a whip on a wide range of topics, and Saudi Aramco management was fortunate to have the benefit of his experience and expertise, especially in the realm of petroleum economics. He shared his insights freely, frequently with humor and always with grace. He was a gem.
Dear Judy, It is many years since we danced together in Cats – what wonderful days. And what a wonderful life you shared with David; he was always there, always supportive of your many schemes & projects.
Many of the old DTG gang have gone ( including their pets!) So we all hope to meet up again when we cross that Rainbow Bridge. I’ll include David in our local Masses. Condolence & sympathy. Kevin
Dear Judy and Michelle, we were sad to hear of Dave’s passing. He was a joy to know and we have great memories of our times together in Saudi. Besides being a knowledgeable and practical engineer he had a fantastic sense of humor and a cheery disposition. He was the second person Ken met after joining Aramco. Ken got his job when he left Facilities Planning and we know he recommended him for that position. We will remember him fondly. RIP!

Dear Judy: Over the years, BJ and I have tried to make contact with you and David, but were not successful. Tonight we once again did a search, and found that David had passed over a year ago. We are so sorry for your loss. David was a good man. We have fond memories of your both. Rex Kenyon
