Colleen Mary Drake Nieves age 44 passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025

Colleen was born December 20, 1980 in Greece, New York to the loving parents of Gary and Mary Drake.  

Colleen graduated from Roberts Wesleyan University with a masters degree in education. SUNY Brockport  BA. In business. Colleen moved to Bartow Florida in 2010 to begin teaching  at Lake Gibson High School. In 2024 she returned to Rochester to spend more time with  Family, where she taught as a  substitute teacher in the Spencerport New York school system. 

Colleen professed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved to read her Bible praying for and with others. She loved spending time with family and friends. Colleen had a beautiful smile that always lifted our spirits and made us feel welcome in her presence.

Colleen is survived by her loving parents, her mother Mary Drake and her father Gary Drake. She’s survived by her husband Miguel Nieves of 12 years. Her two brothers Kevin Drake/Dana Spyradakos, Michael Drake/Christina Drake, niece and nephew, Madelynn and Daniel.  

Colleen’s visitation will be held Sunday, August 3rd 2 PM – 5 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 4th at 9:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI.org in her memory.

    Colleen was a very sweet woman from a very warm loving family and I’m sure she is looking down on them now waiting for them to join her in heaven. She is greatly missed by many and was a true blessing to all around her. Godspeed Colleen and say hello to your grandparents for me.

    Our hearts are breaking for Colleen’s family and friends. We met Colleen when she attending a Bible Study with us in Webster. Her Love for God and people was so evident. She has been in our home for a meal with friends. She was so delightful to be with.
