Charles Richard Frear

Charles Richard Frear Greece: February 24, 2018. Predeceased by wives, Muriel J. Frear and Beryl Coleman-Frear. Survived by children, Lorrie Frear (John Dodd), Ellen Heusner (Todd), and Ronald C. Frear (Karen);grandchildren, Grace Heusner (Jonathan Levinsohn), Austin Heusner, Ronald C. Frear II, and Shannon Frear; sister, Linda Novak (Robert); sister in law, Dorothy Frear (Arnold); the families of Muriel Frear and Beryl Coleman-Frear; nieces, nephews and cousins. Charlie was co-owner of Frear Chevrolet with his brother Arnold W. Frear, and an active member of the community. Charlie served on the boards of Unity Hospital, the Salvation Army of Rochester, and Mercy Flight Central. A dedicated Mason and Shriner, Charlie was twice Potentate of Damascus Temple of Rochester, and served on the board of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Erie, PA. Charlie also achieved the 33rd Degree in Masonry. Charlie began or ended many conversations with “Be a good citizen.” Charlie was a veteran of the Korean War, who proudly served in the U.S. Marines, Navy, and Air Force. His military service was a source of tremendous pride and honor. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care and Visiting Nurse Hospice staff at Strong Memorial Hospital for their outstanding care. Charlie’s funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, March 10th, 10:00 AM at Greece Baptist Church 1230 Long Pond Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Honor Flight Rochester, or Shriners Hospital for Children in Erie, PA. in his memory.
