Gates, NY: On March 14, 2026. Carol was born in Rochester, NY on March 10, 1942.  She married Martin Brancato on February 23, 1963 and spent her life raising her children.  Family was always important to Carol and she showed this by baking elaborately-decorated birthday cakes and supporting their many sports and music endeavors.  On Sundays, she taught Sunday School for young children and also ran the program for many years.  Leisure time consisted of gardening in the warm months, which often started with nursing indoor seedlings.  From the time she was a young girl, Carol was a fan of the Rochester Red Wings baseball club and as a teenager, she also became an avid hockey fan.

Predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Martin J. Brancato. Carol is survived by her children, Martin Jr., Cindy (Sean) Thomas, Dennis, Tony (Lisa), Timothy, Christopher; 8 grandchildren, Michael & Katie Thomas, Salvatore & Guiliana Brancato, Brian, Anna, Jennifer & Melissa Brancato; many nieces & nephews.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (March 20th) 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 2400 West Ridge Road. Private interment, Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses may be offered for the repose of her soul.

My deepest condolences to my cousins. Aunt Carol was a kind soul whose bright smile and infectious laughter are among many of my fond childhood memories of Sunday dinners at Grandma and grandpa’s. When we all would gather together.
I’d like to think she is with uncle Marty, my parents, aunt Mary and grandma & grandpa somewhere in heaven sharing a meal together once again.

A gentle and beautiful soul who possessed one of the warmest laughs. She was always fun to be around. My sincerest condolences to all of my cousins and their families on the loss of a great lady.

My deepest sympathies to my cousins at this time. Aunt Carol was always smiling and so patient with all the children. I always remember her smiling and laughing when we were together at gram and grampa’s house. Losing a parent is never easy, but I often find solace in happy memories, and she created many for all of you. Rest in peace Aunt Carol
