    John, Jenny, Nicole, and Erin,

My deepest sympathies for the passing of your wife, and
    their mother Carol.

I was saddened when I saw the notice in the paper while on
the airplane today. I have had many
great memories of your entire family and always enjoyed Carol with all her wise
sayings. I know how much Zeke loved her
and how much she will be missed by all of you.

I wish I could be there to express my feelings in person but
have had to rely on this small note.

John, I hope that we can do a catch up sometime in late
    November when I return.

    Sadly,

    Dave Kesselring
