    Oh, Old Pa’

I started the journey with the family in 2002. Never would I have thought twelve years later I’d be writing this. You and Marcia are the grandparents that ever kid wished they had. You’d sit there for hours listening to Adrianna ‘Teach’ and checkers play tic-tac-toe and draw the most sad looking witches I’d ever seen. But those are the type of memories I want my kids to have. Even in the rough last weeks at home when I stopped by with the kids you were always smiling and laughing.

Every time I’d come over you’d tell me to sit down even if it were for a minute. I was ALWAYS welcome.

For those that never knew this interesting fact. It was a big day the day Joe and I’s daughter Adrianna was born. She was the first great-grandchild for Cook with all the grandchildren being boys except Catie Adrianna was the first girl in a long time but even more that she will always have something special in common with ‘Old Pa’. They share the same birthday.

This year although it wasn’t the best birthday we were able to share your last birthday with you. Which was probably the best gift of all.

    Rest in peace ‘old pa’.
