Dear Linda, Sorry to hear about your father’s passing. My sister sent me his obituary. Saw his picture on the web site. He looks the same as I remember him. I am retired now and living in Las Vegas. Where do you live? My mother is still alive. She’ll be 90 this year. She still lives in Rochester, but spends Jan. – Mar. with us. Loved to hear from you. – Linda

Dear Linda,Marcia,Carol and Paula I was saddened to hear about Ben’s passing. Although I only met him less than a dozen times in my life each of those times was quite special. The last time we met was Sept. of 1992. It was during a motorcycle tour that took me as far south to New Jesey to visit Paula and Michael. My next stop was Ben’s. He took me out to diner and we had a great time – just two good old boys telling stories and livin’n large. The thing I remember most about the visit was that he treated me as his equal, an adult eventhough there was an a distinct age differnce difference. He was interested in what I had to say. I can still see him shaking his head as I climbed on the motorcycle ready to head for Canada. Now I am going to take you back in time to about the mid sixties -it was the time I got Ben. Your Dad was pretty sharp and he enjoyed a harmless practical joke at your expense. No too many people got one over on old Ben, but I did. We were all sitting around your parent’s living room in Rochester, suddendly there was a lull in the conversation. I piped up and said ‘Ben what route do you take to get from home to work.’ Well he went on at great length – in minute detail he described his route, even throwing in alternative routes should there be a traffic jam or an accident. When he had finished I looked him square in the eye and without cracking a smile said ‘well on your way to work if are passing a garbage can could you toss this in for me.’ whereupon I handed him a paper napkin I no longer needed. The look on his face was priceless – dang I have been had by the young fellow. Prior to that moment there had been some light hearted banter and teasing between your Dad and me and he was geting the upper hand. As I recall everyone in the living room cracked up including your Dad -he took it in good stride and never tried to get even or make me feel bad. It was one of those special moments I will always cherish when I am reminded of Ben Fromen. I am sure over the next few days there will be a few more stories told about Ben and I’ll bet the majority will be how he brought joy and happines to those people he touched in his lifetime. A big hug to each of of you love Trevor

Dear Paula ,Marcia Linda and Carol and your families. We will hold you in our prayers at your time of loss. Burt Tanenbaum and I knew Ben well and handled legal matters for him over the year. He was just a great guy! I had posted a note from the D & C web site, but apparently it did not make it to the guest book. I know you will miss him always. Sue Salzman
