Barbara G. Marsaw

Barbara was a Born-Again Follower of Jesus Christ, and on September 7, 2026, Barbara at age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, devotion, and a quiet strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Barbara was married to the love of her life Dean, for 69 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and the simple joys of sharing life together. Throughout the years of their marriage, Barbara and Dean enjoyed camping, golfing together, spending time in Florida during the winter, and making many wonderful memories along the way. She also belonged to a Quilting Ministry, where she used the sewing talent that the Lord blessed her with, to bless others. Dean preceded her to glory three years ago, and Barbara has carried his memory with her until the Lord called her home.

Barbara was a loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was one of the greatest joys of her life. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with them and had a deep love and devotion for each generation. 

Barbara was a woman of genuine faith in Jesus Christ. She lived out her love for her Savior not simply in words, but in the way she lived each day. Her faith was characterized by a quiet strength and confidence—and a steady trust in the Lord. 

Two passages of Scripture that were especially meaningful to Barbara were Psalm 23 and Psalm 46:1. The words of Psalm 46:1 reflect the confidence she demonstrated throughout her life:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

In the final weeks of her life, Barbara spent time reading through the Gospel of John, keeping her heart and mind focused upon Jesus. Even as her earthly journey drew to a close, her faith remained anchored in the Lord she loved and trusted. She was eager to see Jesus and was ready to “Go home.” 

Barbara’s life was a testimony to the beauty of a quiet, faithful Christian life. Her love for Jesus was seen in the way she loved her family, cared for others, and faithfully walked with the Lord. Her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and confidence in Christ will be deeply missed.

While her family grieves her absence, they do so with the hope and assurance that Barbara is now in the presence of the Savior she loved and served. Her earthly life is finished, but her testimony of faith, love, and devotion will continue through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Barbara’s family gives thanks to God for the 92 years He gave her, for the 69 years she shared with Dean, and for the countless memories and expressions of love that will remain with her family for generations to come. Most of all, they give thanks for the assurance that Barbara knew Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and is now safely home with Him.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents Orrin and Connie Gould, Husband Dean. She is Survived by her daughter Sandy (Mike) Kabat, son Bill (Beth) Marsaw, grandchildren Brian (Gabby) Kabat, Erica Kabat, Chris (Kimmylee) Marsaw, Nick (Anna) Marsaw, great-grandchildren Aiyana, Eliana, Benny, Amelia and Paisley, sister Kay (Jim) Sharpe, brother Richard (Laurie) Gould, nephews.  

Private interment at Falls Cemetery Monday, September 14, 2026. Her Memorial Service and Celebration of Barbara’s life is planned for Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM at First Bible Baptist Church, 990 Manitou Rd, Hilton NY.
