ABOUT MY FATHER For the first time in my life I will celebrate Thanksgiving this year without my father. He passed away on November 19th, he was 93. It has been said that the loss of a parent is one of life’s traumatic events. I now know the devasting truth of that statement. I’ve been told that, in time, the hurt will fade, only to be replaced by positive memories that soothe the soul. Already, I can feel that happening. He was a remarkably good man, an inspiring role model and mentor. He was a person of devotation and integrity, a man who understood a hard days work. Yet unlike most of them, he never had the advantage of a college education. He was a self educated man. His core accomplishment was family. What I remember most about my father was his vast thirst for knowledge, he loved to read, his love of travel and sports. A my father neared his death, I put my hand in his as often as I could. I wanted him to know I was with him on his final journey on earth. As he lay dying in his hospital bed, his last conscious words to me echoed my last words to him. ‘I LOVE YOU.’ The words were spoken just days before his death, a beautiful and complete ending to a remarkable relationship. Rest in Peace Dad~ Your Daughter~

Dear Papa Gus ~ You’ve had a wonderful, long, healthy life. I’m going to miss your sweet smile, your strong voice, and sharp mind. I’m going to miss hearing about all of your travels, talking to you about the latest technologies, especially cell phones and I’m going to miss your thoughts and views on anything and everything. You will forever be in my heart! Love ~ Chris

If his grown daughter Eileen and his son Gary are any reflection on Mr. Blanck then he was a good man. God Bless the entire family.
