I remember meeting Andrea and Shawn about 4 years ago when they were walking by my house. We were remodeling our kitchen and they inquired about the windows on our lawn. I gave them to them, Andrea had plans for them. I always enjoyed watching Andrea and Shawn walk by my house with their little girl and their dog. My deepest sympathy to the entire family, especially to Shawn and their little girl. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Every now and then I saw Andrea at the gym. Andrea always had something to say that made me laugh. I am so sorry to hear of her death.
Andrea was always so upbeat and positive. She was always there when you needed a friend. Shawn if you need to talk or anything at all, please call or text 24/7. Love you.
Andrea was such a loving and caring friend. She always had a smile on her face and she was always there for her friends and family. Shawn, if you need anything please ask.
I played basketball with "Squirt" at Neumann. She was so fun and upbeat always!!! I am so sorry for you and Jenna! She was an amazing person and will be greatly missed.
I worked with Andrea before we truly became friends. She reached out to me when I had nobody. We confided in each other, joked and had the best lunch or dinner at Sinbad’s. I’m really gonna miss our talks about life, our lesson plans and how the first day of school went. She made a great impact on her students, advocated for many, stood her ground for her beliefs and made us all laugh! Shawn, that girl loved YOU!
Your beautiful family lit up the space when you came to worship. Such joy you spread. I pray that your family receives all that you need at this time. I am so very sorry for our loss. Peace be with you all with love,

Even though we didn’t see each other often, we stayed in touch over the years and celebrated many special occasions together. She was so smart, funny and well-rounded. Such a special person to me and I will miss her so much. I will always keep her family in my prayers and wish them healing. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Mrs. Szozda was one of the best and funniest teachers I’ve ever had. I’m gonna really miss seeing her and hugs from her. She was never boring she was always fun. She had fun and made jokes and we all enjoyed having her as a teacher.
Andrea was a kind caring person and a loving mother to Jenna and wife to Shawn. We were her next door neighbors and would see Andrea playing with Jenna. Such a loving family.
She was one of my 9th grade teachers and one of my favorites. She made learning biology so fun and interesting. She always smiled even on the worst days. Its unbelievable this happened. My condolences to the family.
Miss Szozda was my teacher at Franklin and hands down one of the best for sure. She made coming to class and learning so much fun and genuinely cared about her students. My Deepest condolences goes out to her husband, daughter and the rest of her family what a loss She’ll truly be missed!
I have known Andrea since she started teaching at Franklin, and I was her substitute when she was on maternity leave for Jenna. She was an amazing teacher, one of those who came by it naturally. Her passion for science, the care and creativity she put into every lesson was obvious. The kids knew she cared, that she meant business and was fun and energetic, a tough balance to always get right. When I was at Franklin I would often stop in and chat and like others we talked about teaching, life, Jenna, my grand kids, just everything. She was so in love with Shawn and was a great mother to Jenna. I was happy to see her thriving at East and to finally get to use her talents to help other teachers. I miss her already and I know she would want each us to live our lives to the fullest, in honor of Andrea that is exactly what I plan on doing. My love and prayers go out to Shawn, Jenna, her Mom❤️, brother and all her friends and colleagues.
From the few times I was lucky enough to meet Andrea, she lit up the room with her bright personality. So positive, funny, and brilliant, she was a joy to be around and interact with. One could only hope to impact 1/10 of the lives it seems Andrea has. All of her family and friends, especially Shawn and Jenavieve, are in our daily prayers. With love, the Batten Family
It was always fun watching the Kendall girls basketball team when Andrea was on the court. There are no words to express our sadness at this time. Sending hugs to help carry you through this difficult time. Betsy McDonald and family
Andrea was a friend I could always count on for advice, encouragement and a laugh. Going through pregnancy together and then having Jax and Jenna only months apart, it was nice to have her to talk through all of the changes in life we were going through. She was there through so many times in my life from playing basketball together from elementary school to high school and then finding each other again after college. I appreciated her candor. I appreciated her knowledge. I appreciated how genuine she was. She made a huge imprint on this world and the people she touched. She is so dearly missed. Shawn and Jenna you are thought of often and we are praying for you. With love and big hugs, Krissy Parsons
