Young, Alice L. (Castronovo) Greece: Passed Peacefully, Friday, April 22, 2016. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Young; brothers Carl Young, Howard Young; sister, Mary Walik. Survived by her children, Peter (Sharon) Castronovo, Gerard (Sita) Castronovo, James (Denise) Castronovo, Linda Castronovo; grandchildren, Michael (Courtney), Rachel, Zachary, Nicole, Justin, Alex and Sabrina; great-granddaughter to be, Hayleigh; brother, Joseph Young; sister, Ruth Heunemann; sister-in-law, Donna Freida; brother-in-law, Kevin Young; step-son, Scott (Samantha) Young; partner, Don Metzger; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Alice proudly raised four children, followed by a successful 23-year career for the Monroe County Health Department. She enjoyed organizing family events, gardening, traveling and enjoying the outdoors. Friends may call Tuesday (April 26th) 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 9:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Journey Home in her memory. i am so very sorry. I was out of town and did not see obit. It was announced at St Charles this AM. I worked with Alice at the Health Department. I saw her occasionally but had no idea she was ill. She was a wonderful person and a great friend. Again I am very sorry.
