Rochester, NY, passed away on July 12, 2026 at age 77.
Alfred proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was in the 82nd Airborne Pathfinder Detachment 1st Aviation Brigade. Alfred was employed at Eastman Kodak Company, then the U.S. Postal Service. He dedicated his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren. His hobbies were fishing and the casino.
He is predeceased by his father, Frank A. Woods; his mother, Marianne Woods; his sister, Barbara Swamp and his brother, Daniel Woods; brother-in-law, Mike Kolozvary.
Alfred is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, MaryAnne Woods; his children, Jennifer Woods (Nicholas Belluccio) and Frank Woods; his grandchildren, Adriana, Alessandra, and Adam; and his siblings, Kitty Kolozvary and Billy Woods (Tacy); several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Friends may call Monday (July 20th) 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday (July 21st) 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
I am heart broken for your family. I was privileged to know the whole family through Ben, my deceased husband.
