Alex was more than a great friend. He was a mentor, a source of wisdom, and a place to land when I needed a laugh or to make sense of something. Losing him is hard. His passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of many. Not just his longtime friends, but the community of artists he built around himself online. His work was enjoyed by many and already fans are missing his outlandish, yet weirdly beautiful, installments.
Alex loved nature, the occasional cute dog, and a good long chat with friends that meandered like a nice walk along he beach.
These things don’t quantify Alex as a whole person. He was complicated, messy, sometimes frustrating, but many, myself included, are struggling without him.
I hope anyone reading this knows he was loved by many, is missed by many, and that he changed lives just by gracing us with his presence and being so encouraging to those he cared about.
Alex leaves a large hole in so many hearts. But his memory, and his influence will live with us for time to come.
