Climer, Albert E. Greece: Monday, April 25, 2016 at age 93. Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Florence Climer; brother, William Climer; sister, Lillian Lond; first wife, Doris K. (Trost) Climer, son-in-law, James W. Preston, Sr.; many in-laws. Survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Esma K. Climer; his children, John D. (Bonnie J.) Climer, Charles E. (Deborah) Climer, Marie Preston, Thomas (Dodie) Hartmann, John (Martina) Hartmann, James (Tarra) Hartmann; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Al was a proud veteran of World War II, a foster care parent to many children and a Boy Scout Leader for over 60 years. He was a dedicated member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Friends may call Friday (April 29th) 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held Saturday (April 30th) 10:00 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Seneca Waterways Counsel in his memory.     My sincere condolences to Esma and all the Climer family. He was a friend, and I will miss his cheerful voice and smile. I am sorry that I must be out of town for his calling and services.

    A wonderful man who was loved by my sons since their Scouting days with him and into their adult lives. many fond memories when they arrived out-of-state to always connect w/’Mr.Climer’. And then a very special rocket launch! Deepest sympathy to all of his family.

    We had the pleasure of meeting Al and Esma while they were on vacation in the Thousand Island area . Al made us laugh and smile with all his stories. Truly a great man who will be missed by our family. May God Bless you and take care of you in Heaven. Shawn and Maureen

    You will never be forgotten. You touched so many hearts. I am sad to see you go but this is not the end, I know that I will see you again. When ever I look up, know that I am thinking of You.     Mr. Climber was a dear friend of my dad and was my scout leader many many years ago. Went to school with his son John. He was a great man a tremendous scout leader and devout Catholic. He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace Mr. Climber your work is done May God bless you.

    Al has left a huge hole in the Mother of Sorrows community. He was a fixture there for many decades involved in all aspect of parish life, all the while making people feel welcome and bringing a smile to everyone’s face with his jokes. I will miss you Al as will everyone at MOS.
