Adelbert F. Letson

Adelbert (Del) F. Letson   GREECE   Went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Predeceased by his wife, Ruth; parents, Hiram and Hazel Letson; brother, Hiram Letson; sisters, Dora Vanderlaan, Genevieve Evans, Coral Aikins, and Helen Hinckley.  Survived by his sister, Hazel Paddock, sister in-law, Barbara Letson; daughter, Linda (Ron) Cunningham; grandchildren, Robert (Julie) Cunningham and Ryan (Katie Towner) Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Moira and Amelia Cunningham; several nieces and nephews; loving family and dear friends.   Blind in one eye, he served in the US Army and landed in Normandy in 1944.  He and Ruth married in Tacoma, WA in 1946.  They moved to his hometown Norwich, NY where their daughter, Linda, was born a year later. He worked for the pharmaceutical company and retired after 40 years.  Del and Ruth returned to Tacoma for a short time to care for Ruth’s mother then moved to Greece, NY to be with their daughter and family.   Del’s visitation will be held Friday October 15th  9AM -10 AM where his celebration of life follow at 10 AM at Orchard Community Church, 2285 Latta Road, Rochester, NY 14612.  Entombment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Orchard Community Church in his memory.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com
