Raleigh, NC June 29, 2023, at age 65, Wayne went home to be with his wife, Kathleen; father, Ronald; grandparents, Roger H. and Laura M. Catlin. He is survived by his mother, Beverly T. Catlin; his son, Douglas (Devon Hess) Catlin; sisters, Wendy (Walter) Catlin Brown and Winene Catlin; nephews, Ryan, Sean (Michelle) Brown, Dustin (Cera) Laible; nieces, Taylor and Morgan Liable; great niece and nephews, Ashlyn and Calen Brown, Zoey Liable; best friend, Jim (Rose) Dever;sisters in law, Mary-Ann(Bill)Kellman, Carol Baker(Mike); nieces, Kristen(Michael) Henry, Kari Russell, Jennifer(Robbie)Fredericks, Stefanie Baker;great nephews and nieces Aiden(Fredericks), Mark, Logan, and Carter Russell, Isabella, Michael, and Ava Henry;many loving family and dear friends.
Wayne was a proud graduate of Aquinas Institute. In his earlier years, he met Kathleen while working for Kodak, they married, and Douglas became his pride and joy. He worked in the car industry throughout Rochester for over 30 years and met many wonderful people. He was a car guy through and through. He enjoyed cooking, especially for his son and family, loved the NY Yankees and most of all, cherished his “sweet girl” Kathleen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Wayne’s life on Friday, July 28th 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. My condolences to the Catlin family on the loss of a loving father. Son Doug was a student of mine at West Ridge School many years ago. I remember how supportive and friendly his parents were.
