Greece: Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at age 89. Predeceased by his parents, Warren and Mary LaVigne; brothers, Robert and Donald LaVigne; wife, Bernice A. LaVigne; 2 infant sons. Survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Thomas) Lawson; son, Gerard (Deborah) LaVigne; grandchildren, Therese, Gregory (Erin), Kristin and Kathrine and Andrew Lawson, Jennifer, Michelle, Emily and Kelsey LaVigne; special family friend, Fran Weeks; sister-in-law, Joyce Ren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Warren was a proud Army Veteran of World War II, a Purple Heart recipient and a member of the VFW Post Keith Miller # 6595. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family.
Friends may call Sunday (Feb 23rd) 1-4 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday (Feb 24th) 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. My condolences to Warren’s family at this difficult moment. i have good memories of Warren from days when we both worked at Humble Oil way back in 1970-1972. I was just starting my work life in industry after college at the time and still remember and appreciate Warren’s consideration and kindness to a ‘green’ new kid in the workplace. So I remember him with gratitude and a smile for having known a good guy. Rest in peace, Warren.
