Valentine “Ama” Witenzen Sukhenko
Saturday, July 23, 2022 after a major battle with cancer.  Born in Ansbach, Germany on September 29, 1946.  Val and her parents emigrated to Lincoln, Nebraska in the early 50’s.  Soon after, they made their way to Rochester where they became American citizens.  She graduated from Ben Franklin High School where she met her sweetheart Victor Sukhenko and were married for 56 years.  They parented two children, Victor Jr. and Antonina “Toni” (Kevin) Whiting.  Watching her grandchildren, Tyler, Jamie and Brittney become the light of her life. October 2021 the most wonderful surprise and answer to her prayers, a little bundle of joy was placed in Val and Victor’s arms by Jamie Whiting and Rachel Ford, their great-granddaughter, Lilliana “Kukla”; many loving family and dear friends.

Val’s visitation will be held Friday, July 29th 4-7 PM where her celebration of life will be at 7 PM in the chapel of Vay-Schleich and Meeson 1075 Long Pond Road.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital in her memory.  For more information and to sign her online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com
