Spencerport:  Sunday, January 2, 2022 at age 80 went home to be with the Lord.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy “Jean” Read; children, Debbie (Jeff) Putney and Donna (Rodney) Bopp Sr.; grandchildren, Jessica (Dan) Fox, Jacob Putney, Carmen (Jessie) Gazzo Jr., Ashley Putney, Saundra Gazzo, Joshua Putney, Brandon (Brittany Grammatica) Gazzo; great-grandchildren, Makayla Putney, Natalie Gazzo, Carmen Gazzo III, Joclynn Fox, Jackson Gazzo, Joshua Fox; sisters-in-law, Margaret Gibbs and Kathy Read. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Helen Read Sr; brother, Harry Read.

Sam worked for Meyers Campers and Enterprise.  He enjoyed racing go-karts, hunting and fishing in his younger years.  He was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed music and was an active member of First Bible Baptist Church.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Sam;s visitation will be held Monday, January 10th 4-6 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson 1075 Long Pond Rd.  where his celebration of life will follow at 6:00 PM.  Private interment, Parma Corners Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to OPen Door Mission in his memory.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

  1. I am glad to have met Sam through great friends and then connected through FBBC. Sam and his wife, Jean are great people who lived our God and spread their smiles and love for to whomever they were around. The love of cars and spending a little time together at car shows was quite fun ! My prayers for God’s comfort and grace for all the family ! Much love!
